Walking tours have always been one of our favorite activities when traveling. Along the way, we discovered what makes a good tour (and what doesn't), and what a great resource these types of tours would be for Lexington. Motivated by this, and faced with months on end of home-based activities, we decided that this was the perfect time to make walking tours of Lexington on modern audio, image and GPS location enabled mobile phones a reality.
With the assistance of her colleagues on the Historical Society's Interpretation Committee Marsha began the research and writing of a new tour focusing on the architecture of houses on Hancock Street. Harry then built a web-based smartphone app making the walking tours accessible wherever you are because they are on the smartphone in your pocket. Then the Battle Green Audio tour previously written, produced, and recorded by Marilyn Rae Beyer and Rick Beyer was enhanced with pictures and maps and converted to Harry's new app.
