Welcome

PictureHarry C Forsdick
Hello, and welcome to my website.  My name is Harry Forsdick.  I have set up this site to deliver on my belief that the true value of the Internet is the Empowerment of the Individual to communicate -- our ability to inexpensively find information under our own control and our ability to publish facts, ideas, concerns, passions, joys, advice, etc...  I have been involved in the Internet since 1971, working at BBN where the ARPANet, the precursor to the Internet was developed. The maturation of the Internet is extremely satisfying to see, having worked thirty years ago imagining many of the tools and techniques that have come to pass.

Below is a snapshot of my Facebook page taken on April 23, 2017.  It shows off several of my interests:
  • The Banner is a picture I took with my drone in the summer of 2016.  I have started a website, Lex Drone, about flying drones in Lexington and beyond.
  • The Intro in the left column lists people (Marsha Baker, Ben Forsdick, and Will Forsdick), places and things that are important to me.
  • The Post is about the Hilltown Chautauqua that Marsha and I support and regularly attend.
  • The Sketch in the Facebook Post is an example of how I have blended my love of art, sketching, travel, photography and computers into one discipline.
I am quite active on Facebook and you can see some things about me even without having an account on Facebook by going to https://www.facebook.com/forsdick.

Finally, the other tabs at the top of this page take you to:
  1. My Blog where I make more serious posting than I make to Facebook
  2. A collection of travelogs we write about our trips
  3. Other websites that I have developed over the years.  This page is a work in progress.
